This has forced the GDI to move the worlds population to the polar regions where tiberium can't grow.
After the presumed death of Kane, the Brotherhood of NOD have retreated to subterranean caves,
factionalized but not weakened by the "loss" of their leader. Though he was believed to be killed in Tiberian Dawn,
Kane does return in Tiberian Sun to regain control of the brotherhood.
GDI scientists have been working hard to figure out how to protect mankind from the lethal tiberium radiation.
NOD have also researched the mysterious mineral, though in a little less conventional way... as in shoving it down
people's throaths and watching the effects. With the help of tiberium, Kane is hoping to make his elite troops into
unbeatable super soldiers. Any positive results of either sides' experiments have yet to be seen...
Tiberium has had a frightening effect on the people that did not manage to evacuate from the critical areas.
- A group of hideously mutated people have joined together and call themselves "The Forgotten." They feel that they have
been ignored by the GDI and harassed and exploited by NOD. So they are generally hostile to both sides, but some of the
more neutral mutants may offer their services for hire to whomever pays them enough...
